Moira Hunter from Paris: Weblearning with the Human Touch
Post GLD update: Moira Hunter represents the very, very, very best kind of GLD representative. I could go “all day” extolling her virtues. But let me concentrate on what might be the very best thing about her and what she brings to GLD — it’s this: Moira’s not one bit bashful in stating what we, the organizers do wrong. We were delighted to learn that Moira Hunter, born in Scotland, educated in England, was in an earlier period of her life the lead sales person for a German company — yes of course she’s fluent in German - and, now as a resident of Paris, fluent in French. Moira will do us honors during the European segment.
Time & Temperature in Paris
What Moira does is split her time between the bliss (agony?) of the Ivory Tower, teaching English to upward-bound French executives enrolled in first class French universities and with consulting work in the international arena.
During Global Learn Day X,Moira will provide the “Welcome to Europe” greeting. She will also introduce our European keynoters.

About her presentation, Moira writes:
“The ’soul’ and centre of my talk is the result of some informal interviews made with geographically distributed adult learners based on their feelings and opinions about ‘the live online classroom’. Some of the recordings were difficult, if not impossible, to edit, so it’s a DIY attempt, but the naturalness is what is so revealing and appealing in my opinion. With the recordings of my learners, I want to lay emphasis on the expectations of today’s learners, the possibilities with today’s technology and what holds it all together - the human touch of the online educator . The virtual classroom includes features such as co-browsing, screen sharing, interactive whiteboard, file transfer and full or half duplex.”
