Global Learn Day has been blessed by many hundreds of exceptional people; but not many, in my not humble opinion, are in the kind of position that Vance Stevens has made for himself. He’s the leader of a very large, very innovative group of English language instructors called Webheads. And, oh my, what a leader he is!

Why do I contend that “Vance leads the most important group in the world?” Here’s why –

The lingua franca of the planet is English, strong evidence of which is that in China more people are learning English than children under ten in America. There is no country on the planet that does not have loads and loads of very smart people leading institutions that teach English. From that premise comes the next one — “Inside classes where English is being taught will come the leaders of tomorrow.”

The world operates on trust relationships. Other than the automatic trust that comes between a parent and a child, the next most common place where trust relationships grow easily is inside the classroom. If that is the case - and it is - then think of all those English language instructors and the trust relationships they are building all over the world.

I hope Vance joins us once more. He can make this case a whole lot better than I can.
