Site Map and F.A.Q.
Where is the “home page” for this event? Click here to reach the Benjamin Franklin web site. There you will find links to take you to each Regional page where you can find more information about start times and the speakers.
ZWICK MASTER LIST -This is the latest and most granulated timetable for the event. Individuals listed at the beginning of each Regional Segment are mostly moderators or Keynoters and will “control” the final order of appearance.
REGIONAL SUMMARY-AUDIO STREAMING INFO Bob Zwick has this for a quick summary of the time in each Region, how you can link to the audio stream and telephone information.
Where can I find a list of ALL the speakers? This page lists all speakers and links to their blog pages. It is organized by the order of appearance - we open in the South Pacific and “travel” west to Hawaii.
This page lists the keynoters and the moderators and the start time of each segment (Opening, South Pacific, East Asia, etc.) (If time permits we will provide thumbnails of each segment).
How do I talk? listen? text chat? blog? Please visit this page for more detailed information. However, basic information about this is as below. Scroll down.
Why do you use the telephone? Why not voice over I.P.? The telephone remains the friendliest and most ubiquitous communication tool ever invented. Yes, there are long distance charges attendant with phone calls to our phone room. But these are very small, especially for Skype users. It’s a small price to pay to talk and listen with zero download problems, zero ‘how to’ instructions, zero grrrrr’s.
Where can I text chat? Our text chat room is provided by TappedIn.org. We will be inside their After School On Line Room. The home page of Tapped In is
where you can register easily as a guest, or register for other use. Additionally, you may find it easier to find your way to the After School One Line room by this link.
I still don’t understand the ‘route’ of the ‘voyage’? We developed this page to help you “see” (in real time) the time and weather in the Keynoter’s country. This is a fun page to visit.
What time is it? This is the most frequently asked question and our most vexing problem. All times on the master schedule at www.bfranklin.edu are listed in GMT with links to www.bfranklin.edu pages which provide corresponding times in a dozens of cities around the world. Additionally, Regional Start times are also noted on the Regional Pages at www.bfranklin.edu. For example, please visit this page and you will “see” a good example how we have tried to make crystal clear what the start time is in (say) Africa? More? Try this page.
Why do you have two blogs sites? We started with the idea that we would have one blog site for “planning” and another that would be for the event. In the end, we used both — and now must hope that our audience can navigate between our ‘regular’ web site (Ben Franklin) and our GLDTEN blog and our TENPLAN blog. Sorry.
How can I talk live and in real time during the event? The only way you can talk is by making a telephone call to our telephone room in the USA. The number to that room is +1 603 413 8003. Ordinary long distance charges will apply. Those residing outside of Canada or the USA are encouraged to use Skype or to acquire long distance calling (debit) cards for rates as low as a few pennies per minute.
How can I listen over the Net? Anyone with an ordinary dial up connection to the Net and a late version browser can listen on the “audio” stream. You will need speakers and have installed a Windows Media Player. Use of the I.E. browser works best for the Windows Media Player. The stream can be listened to by either Mac or Windows computers. Check back here for more information. Click here to reach “stream”
Do you have another timetable? How did you plan this? If you have read this far, you may wish to visit the Bob Zwick Planner, found here. It’s worth a look.
I still don’t quite understand what this is all about. Can you help? We suggest you take about two minutes to listen to an audio message that “goes” with a series of pictures. It’s fun and it has great music too. For the audio message only, click here. For how this was piece was developed, and more, please click here.
