Dan Schmit - Podcasting for Kids
Don Schmit has an intereseting idea - he claims that his “show” is a “book”, a podcast and a community. He’s well been well featured including articles in the New York Times, Education Week and USA Today He’s also an author of two books - GarageBandMechanics and Kidcast - Podcasting in the classroom.
His formal education is as an instructional technology specialist with the College of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. He has taught vocal and general music, worked as a staff developer and curriculum writer.
This is a man worth listening to. Check back to this page sometime Sunday afternoon, Central Pacific Time. Dan will be calling from Omaha, right square in the middle of the USA.

Hello everyone. I’m really looking forward to listening, interacting and speaking with all of you this week. As I look through the topics listed, I can tell that it is going to offer us all a big stretch in our thinking about technology, communication, and what it means to be a global learner.
I think podcasting is beginning to provide students with a powerful vantage point from which to communicate with the world.
