In the Asian society, the next step up for my generation was to become an engineer, or applied scientist, or some aspect of the corporate world. In my case, with the influence of speech and debate, I chose law. And in order to support my goals at that time I went into teaching. After a few years into teaching I discovered that the legal profession was not for me so I continued in teaching for the next fourteen years, and thoroughly enjoyed my efforts, students, and work .
