Ten years ago we launched Global Learn Day. The hardest part? Making outgoing calls all over the world and then bridging the voices to a web streaming company (no longer in business). It’s a great story good for lots of laughts but the most important message learned then, and now, was: KISS-Keep It Simple Stupid. (more…)

If you live in the America’s, from Alaska to Chile, Global Learn Day starts Saturday afternoon, October 7.

If you live anywhere else, from Ireland to Tonga the event begins Sunday, October 8.

The time for each presentation is generally about 13:00 (1p.m.) Sunday, local time. We travel west from the South Pacific, following the sun all the way to Hawaii. An exact timetable for each presentation will be available, later, from this page. It will include speaker bios, topic and appropriate links. (Until then visit this page and view the left hand side bar —click on the individual regions, such as South Pacific, East Asia,Europe, etc. From that you will get a good idea of how this rather extraordinary conference and celebration is held.)

Now in its tenth year, Global Learn Day is a worldwide showcase of exceptional people doing extraordinary work in the education and technoloyg arena.The best part of it is a strong demonstration of worldwide collaboration by way of the Net. We’d like to think that one day Global Learn Day will be “the other side of the Earth Day coin”. How else can you save the planet except by way of the classroom, virtual or otherwise?
