It is not for nothing that my introductory remarks make mention of “The Thrilla In Manila” and the lessons learned from its chief promoter, Don King. Just as Mohammed Ali and Joe Frazier were the greatest of all heavyweights, I think it is fair to say that Vint Cerf and Sir John Daniels are heavyweights of equal stature in their own realm — one inside the world of education; the other inside the world of technology. Veteran sail boat racers will tell you that nicely meshing new blood with the old salts makes for the best chances to be the lead boat at the end of the race.
